The best social media scheduling tool for a creator is one that covers the platforms you post to, costs nothing or little while your audience is small, and takes the repeat work out of posting one idea in several places. If you are just starting, that is probably a free plan. This page compares six tools that suit creators, with prices as published by each company in October 2026.

A note on who is writing. WyreIt is our own product, so read our view of it with that in mind. Where another tool is the better choice, this page says so.

The short answer

  • Starting out with no budget: Buffer, Metricool or Publer. All three publish a free plan. WyreIt does not.
  • Built around Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest: Later.
  • Posting to X and Bluesky as well as video platforms, at one set price: WyreIt Pro, at £49 a month for all 7 platforms.
  • You want AI planning, AI images and a large monthly AI allowance: WyreIt Creator, at £79 a month.
  • You want numbers first: Metricool.

What a creator needs from a scheduler

  1. Your platforms, all of them. Most creators post short video to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, and many add X, LinkedIn or Bluesky for writing. Check each tool's list against yours.
  2. Upload once. One video and one caption, sent to several platforms, with the caption adjusted where it needs to be.
  3. A calendar. So you can see the gaps in the week before they happen.
  4. Comments in one place. Replying is part of the job, and switching between apps is where the evening goes.
  5. A price that fits where you are. A tool that costs more than your content earns is a hobby expense. Start free if you can.

The six tools

WyreIt (our product)

WyreIt has four plans. Standard is £19 a month for any 3 platforms, with 3 extra profiles, the inbox, analytics, and AI caption and reply drafting. Pro is £49 a month for all 7 platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Bluesky), with 4 extra profiles, WyreIt AI, Autopilot and 1,000 AI credits a month. Creator is £79 a month with 3,000 AI credits and AI images. Agency is priced by conversation. The price is for the account, not per user or per channel. There is a 14-day free trial with no card needed. The trial does not include any AI.

For creators there is a dedicated plan: Creator, at £79 a month, with WyreIt AI to help plan and draft, Autopilot to prepare a week of posts for you to review, AI images and 3,000 AI credits a month. Video uploads are mp4 up to 200MB, and Instagram video publishes as a Reel. Not for you if: you need a free plan, you post to Pinterest or Threads, or you are not yet ready to pay for a tool. In those cases start with one of the free plans below.

Buffer

Buffer's free plan covers up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel, and its AI Assistant is included. Paid plans start from $5 a month per channel. For a creator on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube with no budget, it is the obvious first tool.

Later

Later's Starter plan is $18.75 a month billed yearly, for 1 social set and 1 user, with 30 posts per profile a month. Its published platforms are Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Snapchat. It suits visual creators; check the list if you also post to X or Bluesky.

Metricool

Metricool's free plan covers 1 brand with 20 scheduled posts a month, without LinkedIn or X. Starter is from $20 a month on annual billing. X is a paid add-on at $10 a month per connected account. Choose it if you want to study your numbers.

Publer

Publer's free plan covers 3 social accounts (not X) with 10 scheduled posts per account. Paid prices depend on how many accounts you add. Its platform list is the longest here and includes Pinterest, Threads, Telegram and Mastodon.

SocialBee

SocialBee's Bootstrap plan is $29 a month, or $24 on annual billing, for 5 social profiles and 1 user, with unlimited AI content generation. There is no free plan; the trial is 14 days with no card.

How to choose

  1. List your platforms and cross off any tool that misses one.
  2. Start on a free plan if your posting fits inside its limits. Ten scheduled posts per channel is enough for two or three posts a week.
  3. Move to a paid plan when the limits cost you time, not before.
  4. Pay for AI only if you will use it weekly. Drafting help is useful; it does not replace your voice or your ideas.

No tool on this page will grow an audience for you. What a scheduler changes is whether your posts go out on the days you planned. For the routine itself, read a social media workflow for content creators, how often creators should post and how to manage Instagram, TikTok and YouTube in one place.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free scheduling tool for creators?

As published in October 2026, Buffer's free plan covers up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel, Publer's covers 3 social accounts (not X), and Metricool's covers 1 brand with 20 scheduled posts a month. Which is best depends on your platforms.

Can I schedule TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts from one tool?

Yes. Every tool on this page lists TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. In WyreIt you upload a video once, tick the accounts it should go to and pick a time.

Does WyreIt have a plan for creators?

Yes. Creator is £79 a month and includes all 7 platforms, WyreIt AI, Autopilot, AI images and 3,000 AI credits a month. Pro, at £49, covers all 7 platforms with 1,000 AI credits. The free trial does not include any AI.

Do scheduled posts perform worse than posts made in the app?

The platforms do not publish anything that says so, and we have no data to claim either way. What is certain is that a scheduled post goes out, and a post you meant to make at a busy moment often does not.
